Roles & Responsibilities
Purpose
As a Metrology/Backend (MTBE) Equipment Engineer, you will be responsible to work on MTBE equipments to provide operational support and efficiency, create and update documentation and standard operating procedures, lead/ involve in cost efficiency, equipment improvement ,training , safety and housekeeping with the objective of ensuring smooth business operations within department guidelines and corporate policies.
You are also expected to work in/lead a team (cross-functional or otherwise) to improve any number of process performance indicators such as Yield, Throughput, or Cost.
Responsibilities
Operational support and efficiency
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) and troubleshoot equipment-related problems to minimize equipment downtime
- Resolve equipment issues and implement corrective and preventive actions
- Always aim to maximize uptime of equipment to sustain equipment performance
- Prepare and execute new equipment start-up by working with cross functional team
- Coordinate with process, integration and manufacturing engineers to ensure work is carried out efficiently to meet module objectives.
- Provide leadership in giving direction and systematic guidance to Equipment Engineer / Technologists/Technicians.
Record and reports
- Review, validate and analyze given reports
- Ensure staff's on-time submission and accuracy on the tool checklist or report
Documentation & Standard Operating Procedures
- Establish and implement all equipment specification, troubleshooting procedures, maintenance procedures, safety related documents and ensure compliance with corporate requirements and procedures
- Documentation of Corrective Action and Best-Known Methods for equipment to allow more efficient troubleshooting
- Lead and work with the supplier and cross function groups on new tool start up with necessary documentation, gantt chart, site preparation, facilities preparation, acceptance preparation, automation preparation and production readiness .
Cost efficiency
- Work with equipment vendors and spare parts suppliers to improve and develop new methods to achieve improvement in maintaining the tools
- Expected to involve actively in yield improvement, cost reduction, 2nd source suppliers and parts sourcing/testing, optimisation of new machine qualification release plan and cycle time reduction projects
Equipment improvement
- Participate in global key equipment exchange to improve and align strategy and plans
- UPkeep, monitor and control equipment performance indices (MTBF, MTTR, UPtime% , Errors Pareto list, WSPC and etc)
- Maintain optimum utilization of equipment and resources and constantly review methods of OEE management to reduce tool downtime and increase equipment throughput
- Develop and implement improvement/safety program of preventive maintenance task of machines
- Lead Technicians to participate in continuous improvement projects
Training and development
- Train/mentor Technicians and Engineers through OJT and continually upgrade their technical skills to cope with technological changes
Quality
- Participate in QIT programs to optimize equipment utilization and cost of maintenance
- Analyze trend, propose areas of quality improvement; Coordinate evaluation and implementation with relevant parties
- Lead or participate in quality related exchange to enhance improvement and preventions
Safety
- Ensure good housekeeping and safety practices in the Fab
- Work with HSE team to establish ,maintain tool and chemical safety related documents
